Statement of Faith

We believe the Scriptures both Old and New Testments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 3:15-16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Eph. 2:8, Romans 10:17

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 1 Timothy 2:5, Acts 14:15, Deuteronomy 3:4, Isaiah 40:28, John 14:16-17

We believe that Jesus Christ is the true God, one true man, having been conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate. 1 Timothy 2:5, Galatians 4:4, Matthew 1:20-23, 1 Corinthians 15:3, 1 Corinthians 15:4-6, Hebrews 1:5, Hebrews 4:14, 1 John 2:1

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age, to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, seal unto the day of redemption, fill, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service. John 16:14, John 16:8, John 3:5-7, John 1:11-13, Titus 3:5, Ephesians 4:30, John 14:17, John 16:13, Acts 1:8, Romans 8:4

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fall into sin, and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit, can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. Genesis 1:27, compare Colossians 3:10 with Ephesians 4:24 and Romans 5:12-21

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God. Hebrews 9:22-28 and Romans 3:20-26

We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are sacraments to be observed by the Church during this present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. Acts 8:36-38, Acts 10:44-48, Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Acts 8:36, 1 Corinthians 11:28-29

We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. Matthew 16:13-18, Acts 2:1-47, Colossians 1:18

We believe that only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local Curch. The pre-requisite for membership in the local church should be the same as that for membership in the universal Church; namely, personal confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs. Ephesians 4:4-6, Ephesians 5:23-24, Acts 6:1-7, 1 Corinthians 5:1-13

We believe in the imminent, personal return of christ in bodily form. John 14:2-3, Acts 1:10-11, Revelation 20:1-6, 1 Corinthians 7:29, Titus 2:11-14, 1 John 3:2-3

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever, to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment. Daniel 12:2, 1 Corinthians 15:1-20, 1 Corinthians 15:21-40, 1 Corinthians 15:41-58, Revelation 20:11-15
