Luke 24:13-35

  1. Loneliness: an American epidemic

    2. Less friends, less social interactions, less depth
    3. Why?
      1. Busyness? Focus? Video game culture?
    4. Easter meets this need by showing why we have it and giving the answer.
  2. The Road to Emmaus
    1. Two men walking and talking
      1. Cannot understand what has happened.
      2. Yet, they are going through life.
    2. Jesus’ reply
      1. Why do you not believe God’s story?
      2. Old Testament tells it all. The Bible is one story of God pursuing and searching for us. For you!
    3. Illustration of why Christianity is different.
  3. Why keep “Bowling alone”
    1. Do not be afraid of community.
    2. Join with a group of fellow strugglers to encourage one another to find fellowship with God and others.
    3. This is what we need. Not more activity, but more real friends – starting with Jesus.
