Whom Do You Trust?

Galatians 1:11-12

  1. Talk Radio: NPR or Fox Radio?
    1. Elections, economy, global warming?
    2. Who do you trust and how do you know you should trust them?
    3. Most of our culture and many Christians today:
      1. “To yourself be true”
      2. Falls right into the enemy’s hands: No sources of truth outside of ourselves.
  2. Paul: I am apostle! Listen to me!
    1. In determining scripture, Apostolic witness was the most important issue. Written or informed by an apostle. John 14:25-26; John 16:12-15
    2. Paul was called and taught by Christ himself.
      1. As the Apostle to the Gentiles
      2. Jesus used an Old Testament scholar!
  3. Where are we today?
    1. Even if we affirm, there are so many claiming to teach the Bible correctly. Is it all up to us?
    2. Berean Christians – Acts 17:10-12
    3. Model:
      1. Word teaches and interprets itself.
      2. Individuals and community study diligently.
  4. Ephesians 4:12-15 is the Pastor/teacher’s goal: Maturity
