1 Corinthians 1:18-31
- What am I looking for in everyday life? Perfection!
- From myself, others, my family, life
- Context: vs. 26 – this is not anti-intellectualism!
- Corinthian context: elevation of wisdom
- Notice “not many” in 1 Corinthians 1:26
- Wordly Wisdom and God’s Wisdom vss. 27-28
- Self-sufficiency and financial independence – the “wise” and “strong”.
- Community and interdependence – the “weak” and “despised”.
- Ultimately more than that! All is in Christ! Vs. 30-31
- “By His doing” “Because of Him”
- Jesus is everything! Wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.
- What we have is the greatest object in the universe: Jesus Christ!
