Luke 20:27-47

  1. Objection: How can a loving God send people to hell? This whole notion of resurrection is just too hard to understand.
    1. PBN interview: We are more than just a bundle of neurons.
  2. Sadducees: Jews that take Torah literally. Opponents of the religious inventors – the Pharisees.
    1. Question: Mocking, inane question.
    2. Jesus’ answer:
      1. Attacks basis of their claim: Resurrection conditions are different.
        1. This world is a shadow of the ultimate one!
      2. Uses Moses (their authority): God’s promise is to the living.
  3. Jesus on the offensive:
    1. David also witnesses: Psalm 110:1
      1. Pharisee authority?
    2. Jesus moves against religious hypocrisy.
  4. How to conclude?
    1. Deal with the question. Deal with the presuppositions behind the question.
    2. Embrace the ultimate reality as why your desires and thoughts concerning love, immortality, and creation.
