John 1:29-34

  1. Introduction
    1. The Jewish people had expected a Messiah for centuries
    2. The way John the Baptist was preaching, people started to think that he was the Messiah
    3. John came to prepare the way for the One who was to come
  2. The Lamb of God came because of sin
  3. The Lamb of God takes away the punishment of sin
  4. The Lamb of God takes away the power of sin
    1. He does this by means of his church
    2. He delivers us through his Word, the Bible
  5. The Lamb of God takes away the love of sin
  6. The Lamb of God will take us away from the presence of sin
