Luke 17:20-37

  1. The End-Times movie: Point was to scare you to death into the Kingdom
    1. Jesus: Join the Kingdom’s work for you own good!
  2. Context: Manipulative Religion vs. the Kingdom (vss. 20-21)
    1. Pharisees: Kingdom will come by our efforts and our diligence
    2. Jesus: You missed it! Kingdom is among you! Verse 21 explained
  3. Teaching on the Consummated Kingdom (vss. 22-37)
    1. We will long to see it. (vss 22-25)
      1. Jesus is not physically here and the problem of evil is real!
      2. Do not lose hope! He told what it would be like!
    2. When Jesus comes back, there will be no mistaking it.
      1. People will be doing their normal thing
    3. Be ready! Be Kingdom focused!
      1. God’s growing Kingdom and the growing of evil in the last days.
      2. Just remember they are the last days! Christ is coming to set things right.
  4. The Kingdom is now! It is among us because of Jesus’ work. Where are you with Jesus? With a relationship with God?
